Important SILSA Announcement
Changes in the relationship with ESA effective January 1, 2020
In June of 2019, the Electronic Security Association announced the sun-setting of its State Chapter relationships.
What does this mean to our members? You will have the choice to join SILSA, ESA or both organizations. You will receive separate invoices from SILSA and ESA. You will no longer be required to pay both memberships.
What benefits can SILSA offer? Along with the SILSA Benefits, the SILSA Board of Directors voted to maintain a relationship with ESA. This will enable SILSA the ability to offer our members a discount on all NTS classes and to offer a 10% discount on the SARRG Insurance Program. Several of our members are currently saving money on this great insurance.
SILSA will continue to advocate for our industry. We will continue to promote strong relationships with the fire and police departments. We will continue to provide events that cover the most current issues in our industry.
Over the next year, the SILSA name will have to change. We will no longer have the right to use ‘ESA” or have Electronic Security Association in our name as it has been trademarked by ESA. We will be the same association that has served the State of Washington over the past 3 plus decades, we will just have a new name.
We thank you for your loyalty in the past and look forward to a continued relationship in the future. As far as the state association is concerned, nothing has changed.

While our efforts benefit all of the Low Voltage companies in the state, to continue to have a viable alarm association and to continue working on the industry issues, we need your ideas, your experience, and your participation. Please consider membership today.
SILSA has Partnered With ESA to Provide the Additional Benefits (SILSA Members will receive discounts on both programs)
Quality Training and Certification
As the leading provider of classroom, online courses and certifications for the evolving security and life safety industry, the ESA National Training School is the definitive source for training and certification. By taking advantage of the courses offered, event seminars, educational programs and webinars, you will set your company apart from your competition.
WAESA is pleased to offer the NTS CFAT Level II and Level III Certifications that are approved as the equivalent to the NICET requirement in Washington State effective July 1, 2019. Please visit our training web page for more information on the NTS CFAT, NTS classes approved for CEU’s in Washington State, and for additional classes offered by NTS.
The security industry requires special insurance coverage. The association provides access to commercial liability professionals with industry expertise that not only understand your business but strive to save you money.
Security America Risk Purchasing Group is a general liability/errors and omissions insurance program tailored specifically to meet the needs of electronic life safety and security integrators. The program is available to WAESA members and more often than not, the cost of membership is offset by the savings members receive from switching to Security America Risk Purchasing Group.
